God's Mindset

Thinking Like God

In a book The Coming Financial Revolution, in the Chapter entitled “The Ultimate Identity Theft” I talked about the ways that Satan attempts to steal the identity of the children of God.  One way he attempts to do this is to attackour mind with false information about ourselves and the world around us in hopes that we will believe it and allow God’s concept about who we are to be lost and considered invalid.  He desiresto render God’s people culturally irrelevant so they do not advance the cause of the Kingdom.  How does he do this?  First he gets us to tell ourselves lies about ourselves, secondly he sends others into our lives to tell us lies about ourselves and thirdly, he causes us to seek other identities in an effort to make ourselves feel better about whom we are.  It is for this reason that God calls us to renew or transform our minds (Romans 12:2), to reset our minds(Romans 8:5-6) so that we would have a resurrected mind as we would have the mind of Christ (I Corinthians 2:16).  We can then because of Christ see ourselves through God’s eyes, according to His Word.  I referred to this in the book as “the three R’s of the mind” (See The Coming Financial  Revolution, pp.171-191).  In those pages, I list 25 things that God says about what He thinks about us.  Few of us ever come to the knowledge of all that God says about who we are.  Instead we listen to the lies of the enemy.
In order to be successful in our Spiritual walk and in our lives in whatever we set our
hand to do, we must think like God thinks!  We cannot understand God if we rely on our own intellect and attempt to match wits with the very One who created us.
What do I mean, we must think like God thinks?
We who live in the western world have a disadvantage in understanding the mind of God
because of how we have been taught to reason, using our intellect in understanding all we have been taught.  Western thought has its roots in Greek philosophy where reason is the root to all
truth.  The logical mind revered by the Greeks and adopted by westerners place intellect above any spiritual understanding.  Logic is based on that “if –then” premise…if A equals B and B equals C, then A equals C.  The Apostle John appealed to the logic of the Greek mindset in the Gospel of John Chapter 1 when He referred to Jesus as the “Word”.  The mindset of the Western world embraces the thinking that truth exists when everything lines up intellectually. If one cannot understand through reason, well then we can conclude it is not real!  This is the main reason why
westerners have difficulty expecting the miraculous,  where eastern thinking allows room for the
extraordinary.
This is best illustrated by a study which was done shortly after World War II by western
psychologists, of people from the eastern part of the World.  One question they were asked illustrates the difference in thinking.  They were asked to solve a logic problem (of course, westerners developed the test).  Here is the problem.  They asked;  “Cotton can only grow in a warm climate, England has a cool climate, Can we grow cotton in England?”  Westerners, showing their superior intellect as concluded by the study answered “No” as I am sure you did if you are a westerner.  The eastern thinkers often responded; “We don’t know, we have never been
there!”  By their response, they were indicating that eastern thinking allows room for the extraordinary to happen and until you try and experience something, you never know if it is possible or not.  Eastern thinking is more likely to expect the miraculous, than western thinking which is based on a set of facts accepted as truth which cannot be changed!  This produces the pessimistic attitude of “What has been will be, there is nothing new under the sun”.  So westerners may now see why we struggle to “expect a miracle” and have put God in a box to fit our western thinking. Human reasoning is supreme, and we will not accept that which we cannot
understand.
The Hebrew mindset, an eastern mindset, gives us an idea of how God thinks…why because He
established their way of life and their way of thinking as He set out on His master plan to redeem the world when He called Abraham.  This is the mindset that God desires for His church as He has grafted his church into the promises of Israel.    God gave the Hebrews a revelation of His
nature and taught them righteousness and repentance.  He made a covenant with them and gave them practical wisdom to succeed and to demonstrate to the world how God will bless His people.  Most Jews today still have that mindset.  While Jews make up less than 2% of the world’s population, they hold 25% of the Nobel prizes. It has been shown over and over that Jews, where they are allowed to in a society , tend to rise to positions of authority and wealth.   Why? Jews possess a special mindset as they have been taught to think like God thinks and when you think
like God thinks… you prosper!
In the functioning of this Hebrew mindset of success we may not understand God, or be
able to logically reason out a situation but we will still love, trust and obey Him.
In western logical thinking,  when God does not act when we think He should or in the manner we think He should, we tend to analyze or find a reason for what is wrong or what even perhaps what we may be doing wrong.  I am all for inspecting ourselves and our heart as to whether there is an issue to be corrected in our lives, sometimes however the answer is that God is just doing His will and that we may not understand!  It is at that moment that so to speak the “rubber meets the road” of faith and trust!  That is the real test of faith!  In other words, when a prayer is not answered
as we ask, or things are not working out as we want, we look for “cause and effect” and a solution.  What is wrong with our way of thinking here is that we have laid out a formula in our mind and
that formula is not working!  When we cannot come up with a logical answer, it is then that the “accuser of the brethren”, Satan will have us tell ourselves lies or send someone else for him
to speak through, that “we are a failure”, that we are not successful, or that we are just not capable or worthy of receiving what we are seeking”.  Lies then become the answer to our dilemma.  Why? Because it’s logical!  This then becomes what is known as a “logical fallacy”, when a false conclusion is reached through logical thinking! How do we know that it is false? We know because it does not line up with the stated will of God in the Scriptures that tell us who we are in His eyes (See pp 171 to 191 in The Coming Financial Revolution).
You see, sometimes the answer is as the Word of God says that “my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are my ways, your ways, says the LORD” (Isaiah 55:8).  It is then that we
need to recognize how our western, Greek, logical thinking can get in the way of God’s ways in our lives.  Instead, we must employ the three R’s of the mind, and develop a new mindset, the mindset
that God instilled in His people Israel and in these days wants to instill in His church.  It is a mindset of success, a mindset that thinks like God thinks and expects the miraculous, the
impossible, and the extraordinary when logic says, they are incomprehensible!
“For with God, all things are possible!” (Matthew 19:26)

Create A Positive Mindset

A positive mindset… what is a positive mindset? A positive mindset definition is argumentative with most, but I believe most people can agree with the small definition that I bring forward in this article. A positive mindset is when a mind produces 95% good thoughts and good feelings that lead to the person speaking good worlds and taking good actions. A positive mindset operates with an optimistic view instead of a pessimistic one. A positive mindset looks for solutions to situations, issues, and problems, instead of focusing on the actual situation, issue, or problem. A positive mindset promotes good thoughts instead of negative thoughts. The positive mindset definition has spanned into detail books but I just wanted to give you a sample of what is positive mindset.
Having a positive mindset is a giant benefit in everyone’s life, but creating one is the challenge. We are all born with a positive mindset, but it is our placed environment and influential people that determines whether we keep the positive mindset or not. What do I mean by that statement? Well, a positive mindset is innate in our DNA, but our parents, families, and teachers mold our younger generations into a not-so-positive mindset because many transfer their failures and inabilities to children through their thoughts, words, and actions. I know this is a pretty bold statement, but I did not say that many of these people do it intentionally. Ladies and gentlemen, to have a positive mindset is one thing, to create and keep one is a whole other process that takes strength and will power to overcome the daily pressures of life; basically people do not do it on purpose, they do it for love and protection. For love and protection? Yes, from love and protection people irresponsibly create not-so-positive and negative mindsets in their children and younger generations. There are people who failed miserably in life, so they feel their children will benefit from not suffering by not having them attempt to feel like they have a chance, so why have them think they can. Some people believe if I could not do it then there is no way my child, who is only part of me, can do it. Then you have people who just choose not to teach their child to think positive all the time and go with the flow of their placed environment. I can feel the temperature rising in most people reading this right now, but I can understand why. IF your temperature is rising then it means you either do such things or it was done to you. As human beings, we do not accept the stone cold truth well and we do not like it when it is brought forward on public display. My intention in this article is to tell the truth about the truth, but this is not the article to expose the truth. This is the article to begin a process to reinvent the way we train our younger generation to think.
Getting back on track, creating a positive mindset is a process that takes time to build because your not-so-positive or negative mindset took time to build too. So you have to un-think what you think and start thinking a new way. Normally the average person finds this difficult to do on a solo basis, so I suggest you find a personal development coach or mentor that can guide you only the way, like me. Not someone who can just teach you but someone who has been through the same process that you are attempting to go through. I did not say people who teach creating a positive mindset cannot help you, I believe it is better when someone has went through the same process you are enduring because there is a better understanding. A success coach or mentor is great to have when you begin your journey of creating your positive mindset. If you do not have the financial means, or access, to a success coach or mentor, then I suggest you start reading personal development books from authors that appeal to your personality type. Joining a personal development book club also helps because it keeps you on track with the books to read in helping you create a positive mindset. These book clubs are rare, but there is a book club at www.loepworldwide.com/page/book-clubthat is open to the public and free to join. The point is to find a vehicle to move you faster than you would on your journey to a positive mindset. Once you have the courage to start on your journey, you must have the courage to continue your journey.
Operating a life with a positive mindset is a difficult task because we live in a world that dumps more negativity into us through media, social media, and gossip. Unfortunately, negativity sells in today’s world, but it is also destroying our thinking ability in making generations better than before. Here are seven tips that I suggest you do to get yourself launched on your journey of creating a positive mindset:
TIP #1: 3x5 CARDS
  • Write your SMART goals on 3x5 cards and keep them on you at ALL TIMES
  • Write positive affirmations (statements) reflecting how I desire to think and act; i.e., I AM A GREAT PERSON, I AM HEALTHY, I AM HANDSOME, I AM BEAUTIFUL, I AM SUCCESSFUL, I AM WEALTHY, etc.
  • Write in ALL CAPITALS to accent the serious and grandiose of your success journey
  • Cut out pictures of the 5 most things you desire to achieve and paste, glue, or tape them to your 3x5 cards. Get as close and detail in the pictures as you can
  • Review your 3x5 cards at least 5x a day: once when you wake up, once at breakfast, once at lunch, once at dinner, and once right before you go to sleep
TIP #2: HAVE A COMMERCIAL
  • Write your own 30-second to 1 minute commercial about you and what you will achieve; not what you want but what YOU WILL achieve
TIP #3: WRITE DOWN ALL GOALS
  • One of the main reasons people fail is because they do not have a Definite Chief Aim in their life (The most ULTIMATE goal of your life journey)
  • All written goals should form as steps to your Definite Chief Aim
  • Have goals for 30-day, 60-day, 90-day, 1-years, 3-years, and 5-years
    • Having a 10-year goal is optional, but also good to have
TIP #4: HAVE A MISSION STATEMENT
  • This is close to you Definite Chief Aim, but more of how you will achieve than achieving
TIP #5: DREAM BOARD
  • Get a poster board, or two
  • Cut out pictures of objects that you desire to achieve then put them on your dream board
  • Place your dream board in your home where you can mediate for 10 minutes 2x a day (once when you awake up in the morning and once before you go to bed)
TIP #6: PERSONAL VOICE RECORDING
  • Record yourself making positive statements about yourself
  • Record yourself repeating your goals, mission statement, and DEFINITE CHIEF AIM
  • If you can, listen to your voice recording while you sleep
  • Listen to your voice recording every chance you get
TIP #7: POST-IT NOTES
  • Place your goals, dream, vision, etc. on post-it notes and place them in strategic spots around your home, in the car, at your desk at work, or wherever they will inspire you
These are seven tips that will help you create a positive mindset. You must make these tips a habit in your daily routine in order for them to help you. So make sure you follow these tips for at least 30 DAYS straight before you lose focus. These tips will help if you allow them to help you. Having a positive mindset promotes great health, a stable well-being, and a well-rounded lifestyle because you will think better on a daily basis. Having a better thinking philosophy means that you will make sounder, clear decisions for, and in, your life. A positive mindset does not prevent situations, issues, or problems from arising in your life, but it definitely can help them pass along a little easier because you will focus on solutions. Disclaimer: This article does not replace medical treatments or counseling prescribed to the reader by professional medical personnel. These techniques and tips develop many positive mindsets, including mine. Remember, it is not a one-time action to create and have a positive mindset; it is an everyday process that will help you on your success and life journeys.
